Comments: My main focus after 20+ years with working dogs is to improve a handler's ability to understand the stock being worked. I spent seven summers working large flocks (1200-1500) of sheep doing brush control for forestry in re-planted areas in the mountains of British Columbia, so I am more interested in a person's stock sense than their ability as a trainer. The folks I now work with are those who have a commitment to becoming better stockpersons--their breed of dog is not as important as their desire to become good stock handlers.
